MARKET RESEARCH - FRONT COVERS
After looking at several magazine front covers it is clear to see they each follow a similar layout. Each of these front covers have several similarities. These 3 magazine covers each feature a model/ celebrity of some type with a medium close up camera shot. We also see, in 'Q' and 'NME', the font which announces the celebrity's name is a lot bolder in relation to the other text e.g. the text used on the cover lines.
Another similarity between these music magazines is the fact that the masthead is featured in the top left hand corner of the cover. The background of these magazines is also plain to direct the audience's attention to the main image, in this case - the celebrity.
The cover lines are located away from the main image, mainly in the right third or the left third in an organised manner to avoid covering the artists face. We also see the celebrity's face cover the majority of the cover to emphasise their importance in relation to the main cover line and article within the magazine.
The artist in each of these magazines are female, which could possibly connote the idea that the music industry is female orientated or dominated by females.
